Was looking to buy this grinder for a long time, finally sold my C2 and pulled the trigger on R3. Had some trouble because of the courier company the guys at Fix coffee were super helpful in sorting out the issue with the courier company. As far as the product is concerned it is very well built, feels very premium in hand and the speed and micro adjustments is definitely a much needed upgrade over my C2.

The machine is compact, produces good quality espresso shots. Also the milk foaming is good. The dual boiler or thermobloc gives you flexibility to quickly switch from brewing a shot to milk foaming. The included accessories are decent. Although I'd like the tamper to be a bit hefty and milk pitcher to be bit big.
But one thing is for sure is that you will need a good grinder to accompany this machine.

Took some time to dial in the right grind size. No complaints so far. Great experience. Grinds fine and evenly. The set of accessories are also good.
The HiBREW G5 performs very well for espresso, moka pot, and AeroPress. Grind consistency at fine to medium-fine settings is solid, and the build quality feels sturdy with smooth adjustments.
Where it falls short is at coarser settings. For V60 or French Press, the grind is less uniform, with too many fines that reduce clarity in the cup. It’s usable, but not ideal if pour-overs or immersion brews are your main method.
Overall, this grinder is a great choice if you mostly brew espresso or moka pot, but less suitable if your focus is V60 or French Press.
