FAQ's

The HiBREW H10 Plus Espresso Coffee Machine in sleek white, featuring a digital display set to 92°C, ensures a custom coffee experience. It includes a wooden handle portafilter and matching mug, with a ready steam wand. The HiBREW brand is prominently displayed on both the machine and mug.

What is an espresso, and how is it different from regular coffee?

Espresso is a concentrated coffee brewed by forcing hot water through finely-ground coffee beans. Unlike regular drip coffee, espresso has a thicker consistency, higher concentration of coffee solids, and a creamy top layer called crema. This method is popular among home baristas for its rich flavor and base in many coffee shop favorites.

How can I make a latte or cappuccino at home like a skilled home barista?

To make a latte or cappuccino at home, start by brewing a strong espresso shot using a quality home espresso machine. For a latte, add a larger amount of steamed milk to the espresso with a small amount of foam. For a cappuccino, aim for equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam. This process can be perfected using machines with a milk frother or steam wand.

What features should I look for in a home espresso machine to achieve barista-level quality?

Look for features that enhance control and convenience, such as adjustable temperature settings, a built-in grinder for the freshest grind, and programmable profiles. Machines like the best home espresso machine with a grinder allow for precision and ease, making them ideal for any home barista eager to explore different coffee styles.

Why is temperature control important in espresso machines, and what difference does it make?

Temperature control in espresso machines is crucial for extracting the full flavor from your coffee beans. It ensures that the water is at the ideal heat level to optimally extract coffee oils and aromatics. A stable temperature can dramatically improve the taste and consistency of your espresso, making temperature-adjustable machines a favorite among home baristas.

How long should I brew an espresso shot to get the perfect taste?

The ideal brew time for an espresso shot is generally between 25-30 seconds. If it takes less time, your grind may be too coarse, and if it takes longer, it might be too fine. Experiment with your home espresso machine to find the perfect balance and achieve the best extraction.

What is the best grind size for making espresso at home?

The best grind size for espresso is very fine, similar to powdered sugar. A precise grind ensures even water distribution during brewing and results in a strong, flavorful espresso. Consider using a burr grinder for consistent results, enhancing your capabilities as a home barista.

Can I use regular coffee beans in an espresso machine?

While you can use regular coffee beans in an espresso machine, for optimal results, choose beans labeled as 'espresso' due to their roast and blend being specially formulated to perform well under the high pressure of espresso brewing. This will help you emulate the quality espresso made by professional baristas.

H10 Plus & G5 Grinder Combo - Compact, Powerful and Loaded with features

Writing this review after using H10 Plus and G5 Grinder for more than 7 months. I repurchased this power combo in November 2024 and it is by far the best thing I have purchased (PS5 too :))
Tbh I always wanted to buy Gaggia Classic but when I came across H10 Plus, I literally forgot about Gaggia, considering all the features H10 had to offer. Be it PID or 3-way solenoid or compact design with wooden accents, it looks and works amazing.
Pairing it with a G5 grinder, the duo pulls great espresso shots consistently, making the dialing in process fun and easy.

I have tried medium and dark roast coffees from multiple different roasters, and the machine has always delivered tasty shots.
I am still learning and improving myself. Overall it fun to work with this machine and it's great for home and small setups, especially for people who are starting out their home barista journey.

Kudos to Fix Coffee and the founder, I have literally asked many silly questions and he has always helped me figure out things, no matter how basic they are.

Compact, Reliable, and Great for Everyday Espresso!

I’ve been using the HiBrew H10 Plus for over a week now, and it's proven to be a solid espresso machine for anyone diving into home espresso without breaking the bank. Paired with a good grinder (I use the DF54), it’s more than capable of pulling consistently tasty shots once you get a feel for it.

What stands out most is its compact footprint. It doesn't take up much counter space, which is great for smaller kitchens. Despite its size, it still packs enough punch with a 20-bar pressure system that handles espresso brewing well. Heating time is quick, and it’s ready to go in under a minute, perfect for busy mornings. There’s also a built-in solenoid valve that helps purge the group head right after each shot, so you don’t end up with a soggy puck.

The controls are simple, which makes it very beginner-friendly. It has a single and double shot button, and even comes with PID control to keep brew temperature spot on. There’s no “manual” lever or dial, but between the PID control, solenoid valve and programmable shot volumes, you still get enough flexibility to tune your extraction. I usually run a blank shot to stabilize the temperature, which helps with consistency.

One thing I appreciate is how easy it is to clean and maintain. The drip tray, water tank, and portafilter are all easily accessible and removable. Build quality feels decent, mostly plastic with some metal elements, but nothing feels overly flimsy.

Final thoughts: The HiBrew H10 Plus is a great espresso machine that offers a nice balance of performance and simplicity. It’s ideal for home baristas who are just starting out and want a reliable machine that doesn’t need constant fiddling. With the right grinder and a bit of practice, you can absolutely pull cafe-quality shots at home. Solid choice for the price.

Great performance at this price

Bought this machine after a thorough review of all options and selected H10plus since it had all features for a home barista to control their coffee brewing process and experience. The machine is light, small footprint but does everything it says. Enjoying the machine thoroughly and recommended to several friends also. Fixcoffee experience was also great. Support is responsive, shipped the products quickly and was packed properly.

HiBrew H10 Plus & DF54 Grinder – A Hands-On Review

The HiBrew H10 Plus is an entry-level espresso machine that delivers surprisingly high performance for its price. With PID temperature control, pre-infusion capability, and stable pressure output, this machine is a solid choice for espresso lovers looking for control and consistency. The machine has a sleek, compact design, making it an excellent fit for small kitchen setups. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy portafilter and well-finished exterior. The buttons and controls are intuitive and responsive, making the machine easy to operate.

What sets the HiBrew H10 Plus apart is its PID temperature control and pre-infusion feature. I set the temperature to 92°C with a 5-second pre-infusion, which resulted in smooth and well-extracted espresso with balanced acidity and body.

Using a non-pressurized basket, the machine pulls true espresso shots, showcasing the coffee’s nuanced flavors. The pressure stability ensures optimal extraction, preventing channeling and over/under-extraction. The steam wand is functional and produces decent microfoam for lattes and cappuccinos. While it’s not as powerful as high-end machines, it’s still capable of texturing milk properly with some patience.

Amazing!! Perhaps the most feature laden machine for it's price.

The H10Plus has been giving really good espresso shots.
I've been using Medium and Medium-Dark roasted coffee beans and the shots are well balanced. It's still a new machine for me but all the functions I've used are very useful and definitely make a difference in the flavour of the final shot.
The steam performace is also very good and the pressure is constant for anything under 2 minutes.
It's easy to clean and built quite well. Looking forward to having good coffee for a long time with this machine.
