Few things are as disappointing as waiting for a long‑anticipated delivery and finding that it hasn’t arrived when promised.  At Fix Coffee India we curate and dispatch high‑quality coffee gear as quickly as possible.  Once the package leaves our warehouse, the final leg of the journey lies in the hands of third‑party logistics partners.  This post explains why delays happen, why they are often beyond our control, and what we’re doing to make things right.

India’s last‑mile logistics network is uniquely challenging.  Experts note that the country’s population is spread across 773 districts and more than sixty five million‑plus cities, with dense urban centres and a vast unorganized retail network .  The absence of adequate road infrastructure, unplanned city layouts and traffic congestion make last‑mile deliveries particularly difficult .  Because fewer than ten percent of India’s retail sector is organized, intracity and last‑mile movements remain critical.


When we hand your order to a courier partner, they navigate this complex network.  Third‑party carriers play a major role in delivery timelines; factors such as carrier reliability, operational efficiency and the ability to handle high volumes during busy seasons can all cause delays .  Unforeseen events like weather disruptions or festival‑season traffic further slow down transit.  These challenges, described in industry reports, show that even with the best planning, delays and extra charges may arise, and forwarders try their best to move goods on schedule .

Unfortunately, there are moments when circumstances such as road blockages, warehouse backlogs or resource constraints at courier hubs slow down deliveries.  As a small business, we do not own the delivery infrastructure; we rely on the best third‑party carriers available.  We diversify our courier partners to mitigate risk, yet each partner has its own network capacity and service levels .


 

Our shipping timelines

We offer two shipping options:

  • Priority shipping (paid): Your order is processed and dispatched promptly, and the courier aims to deliver within 7 days.
  • Standard/free shipping: Orders are dispatched in the same manner but may take up to 14 days to reach your doorstep.

 


These timelines are our targets, not mere estimates.  They account for order processing and dispatch from our facility in Lucknow and transit to your location via our logistics partners.


 

Making it right when things go wrong

We believe in accountability.  If a priority shipment takes longer than 7 days to reach you, we will refund the priority shipping charge in the form of store credit.  If a standard shipment exceeds 14 days, we will issue a ₹500 voucher that you can use on your next purchase.


When you notice a delay, please contact us with your order number.  We’ll liaise with the courier to track the package and provide real‑time updates.  Industry guidance recommends acknowledging customer concerns promptly and offering compensation, such as discounts or free shipping, to maintain goodwill —that is precisely what we aim to do.

Remember, once the order is handed off to a courier, factors like route congestion, weather and sorting‑hub workloads can affect the final delivery date.  We are constantly evaluating our logistics partners and exploring new technologies to improve your experience.  Route‑optimization tools, localized fulfilment centres and innovations are helping businesses shorten delivery times across India.


Meanwhile, we encourage you to choose the shipping option that best meets your needs.  If you need your gear by a specific date, opt for priority shipping.  During peak seasons (festivals, sales events, monsoons), consider ordering a few days earlier than usual.  By planning ahead and maintaining open communication, we can work together to ensure you always have the tools you need for brewing at home.
