  •  Bottomless Portafilter: Designed to fit 58mm espresso machine models such as E61, ECM, Rocket, Sanremo, Synesso, Slayer, VBM, and more. (Not compatible with flair 58)
  •  One-piece Molding: The entire bottomless portafilter is meticulously crafted from SUS304 stainless steel, ensuring durability, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. The one-piece design eliminates common issues found with traditional portafilters, such as incompatible filter baskets, difficult disassembly, and cleaning challenges.
  •  Non-removable Filter Basket: The YU Series portafilter is equipped with a 58.5mm precision filter basket, featuring a larger extraction diameter compared to standard filter baskets, can hold 18-22g of coffee powder (20g is recommended). Additionally, the 891 0.28mm diameter filter holes at the bottom ensure even extraction while minimizing fine powder runoff, resulting in a cleaner coffee taste.
  • Bottomless Design:The absence of a bottom allows for observing the coffee flow, speed, color, crema, and flow patterns, enabling the detection of defects and errors before extraction.

What is a WDT tool and why do I need one?

A WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tool uses fine needles to break up clumps in freshly-ground coffee before tamping. Ground coffee naturally clumps, creating uneven density in the puck that leads to channeling. Stirring with a WDT tool distributes grounds evenly so tamping produces a level, uniform surface — cleaner extraction, more consistent espresso.

How do I use the Yu Series Cyclone Needle Distributor?

After dosing grounds into the portafilter, hold the WDT tool just above the surface and rotate it slowly — the needles break up clumps as they pass through. Make 3–5 full rotations, moving the tool up and down slightly. You'll see the grounds settle flat. Then tamp normally. The Yu Series' cyclone needle pattern is designed for efficient coverage with minimal effort.

What is a bottomless portafilter, and why use one?

A bottomless (naked) portafilter has no spouts — espresso flows directly from the basket, visible from below. Channeling and uneven extraction show up immediately as spurts or splits in the flow. Use it to diagnose and fix distribution and tamping issues, or as a permanent setup once your technique is dialled in.

Are Yu Series tools compatible with my espresso machine?

The Yu Series tools are designed for standard 58mm espresso setups. The Unibody Bottomless Portafilter and Cyclone Needle Distributor are compatible with 58mm machines including the HiBREW H10A and H10 Plus. Always verify your portafilter size before ordering — accessory sales are final and non-refundable.
