I was a bit sceptical about fixcoffee but ordered my c5 pro, my first ever grinder. I am extremely satisfied with the delivery and the product.
It is one of the best WDT tools right now in the market. I say the best because it does the job well and is placed at an affordable price range compared to the other good WDT tools available in the market. And the fact that you get spare needles just adds more value. Highly recommended!
A significant upgrade over the stock portafilter.
The build quality feels sturdy and premium, and it fits well with the machine. The basket is quite decent and comfortably handles an 18g dose.
Using a bottomless portafilter also helps in diagnosing shots better, which has been useful while dialing in.
Simple upgrade, but makes a noticeable difference to both workflow and experience.
This tamper makes the overall workflow much easier.
The biggest advantage is consistency; no need to worry about alignment, which helps especially when starting out. It has made tamping much more repeatable.
The only downside is the slight “click” during tamping, which can cause a bit of grounds to spill out. Also, since it is a true 58mm and not slightly oversized, the fit is not perfectly snug in all baskets.
That said, it is still a very useful upgrade over standard tampers.
I have been using this grinder daily for the past three months, and it has been very reliable so far.
Grinding is fast and consistent, and retention is minimal, which makes it great for single dosing. Once properly seasoned, the grind quality improves noticeably. 18g at 12-13 clicks takes around 10-11 seconds to grind.
Static can be an issue, especially for pour-over, so RDT becomes almost necessary. Cleaning is straightforward and does not take much effort.
Noise levels are noticeable but not a dealbreaker considering the performance.
Overall, a solid grinder that pairs really well with a machine like the Gaggia Classic Pro.
