The Q-Air is filter-first. With 25μm steps, it can hit pour-over, AeroPress, and French press beautifully, but it's not fine or precise enough for espresso. If you want a hand grinder that handles espresso, look at the 1Zpresso J-Ultra or KINGrinder K6 instead.
The Q-Air is the lightest and most portable of the three at just 365g — it literally nests inside an AeroPress plunger. The Timemore C5 Pro (~640g) is heavier but more versatile day-to-day, with a larger capacity and upgraded S2C burrs. The J-Ultra (~700g) is the premium pick — 48mm titanium-coated burrs and 8μm precision clicks for espresso-grade shots at home. See the full comparison further up the page.
Yes — the Q-Air was designed to nest inside the AeroPress plunger for zero-footprint travel. If you already brew with an AeroPress on the go, the Q-Air slots into the same kit without adding a separate pouch.
For a typical 15–20g pour-over dose, expect 30–45 seconds of cranking. Grind times are longer than heavier grinders because the Q-Air trades mass for portability, but the burr quality is identical to the standard 1Zpresso Q.
Unscrew the burr chamber, brush out retained grounds with a soft brush, and wipe the polycarbonate body with a dry cloth. Never use water on the burrs — it causes rust. Deep clean monthly if you grind daily.
Fix Coffee ships every Q-Air with a 1-year standard warranty covering manufacturing defects. Any issue in the first year — we'll sort it.
